PENTECOST SUNDAY: THE UNIVERSALITY OF THE CHURCH OF JESUS CHRIST (WIND, FIRE AND WATER)

Image
Just as Jehovah revealed Himself to Moses at mount Sinai in the wind and in the fire (Ex.19:18), so He revealed Himself on the day of Pentecost: first there was a rushing wind, then a clove of fire on them (Acts 2:2-3). At Sinai, God established His covenant with Israel but at Pentecost, His covenant was extended to the whole world. At Sinai, Moses spoke just one language to deliver the covenant but at pentecost, the Apostles spoke different languages to deliver the covenant. Just one gospel of salvation, but delivered in different languages; so that it will be fulfilled when it is said; "for He has purchased us for God by His blood, from every kindred, languages, people and tongues to be Priest and Kings..." Pentecost was the lunching day for the universal movement of the gospel of Christ. It was on this same day that Peter who could not stand before a young Hebrew damsel and declare Christ, stood boldly before Jews and Gentiles that was gathered at Jerusalem (over 3000 of t

VISITATION DAY

Image
On 31st of May every year, we join Christian people to remember the visitation of Mary who was then pregnant with Jesus to Elizabeth who was then pregnant with John the Baptist. And it came to pass, that, when Elisabeth heard the salutation of Mary, the babe leaped in her womb; and Elisabeth was filled with the Holy Ghost: (Luke 1:41|KJV- There is this joy we share when we carry Jesus along as we visit one another. Its beyond going along with gifts, the excitement all over Elizabeth was not just because Mary visited, but because someone supernatural and extraordinary came along with her. There is this difference it makes when we intentionally go along with Jesus Christ. Yesterday I went for a job interview and while I was about leaving my room, I called upon Him whose presence is the difference and when I walked into the interview room, everyone was kind of excited to meet me, although I was the youngest and most inexperienced but I know I will get the job because Jehovah was with me.

The genealogy of Adam and why Cain is missing

Image
This is the book of the generations of Adam. In the day that God created man, in the likeness of God made he him; Male and female created he them; and blessed them, and called their name Adam, in the day when they were created. And Adam lived an hundred and thirty years, and begat a son in his own likeness, after his image; and called his name Seth: And the days of Adam after he had begotten Seth were eight hundred years: and he begat sons and daughters: And all the days that Adam lived were nine hundred and thirty years: and he died. And Seth lived an hundred and five years, and begat Enos: (Genesis 5:1-6|KJV- From this account, we discovered that in Adam's genealogy Cain and Abel is missing we understand that of Abel to be that he has died and has no generation to be counted from him, but Cain was still alive and was skipped and Seth was mentioned.  One clear indication from this scripture is that Adam brought forth children after his own likeness. Seth was described to be born

The Feast day of Epiphany

Image
The next day John seeth Jesus coming unto him, and saith, Behold the Lamb of God, which taketh away the sin of the world. (John 1:29|KJV- In the feast day of Epiphany, Christian people everywhere behold the true identity of Jesus Christ as the saviour of the whole world. Though we knew Him as a babe born to Mary and Joseph but as we watch Him grew, we began to see the manifestation of God in Him. The term Epiphany means manifestation or revealing; the feast day captures 3 great occasions in the bible where Jesus was revealed to the Gentiles (Visit of the Magi, Matt. 2:1-12), where He was revealed to Israel (His Baptism at River Jordan, John 1:29-34) and where He was revealed to the entire world at the wedding feast in Cana. The 3 wise men saw His star from the east and travel all the way to worship Him. They represented we the gentiles, we all became Christians today because we heard the gospel that was brought to us by the white men, and it is only the wise among us that heard the

The Model of Cain

Image
For this is the message that ye heard from the beginning, that we should love one another. Not as Cain, who was of that wicked one, and slew his brother. And wherefore slew he him ? Because his own works were evil, and his brother's righteous. (1 John 3:11-12|KJV- It is the law of God that we should love the Lord our God with all our heart and with all our strength, secondly is that we should love our neighbors just as ourselves. This is the model of Christ.  Cain took from his father the devil which Apostle John in our passage described as the wicked one. He claimed Abel to be his brother and neighbor but lacked the brotherly love that was preached from the beginning.  In chapter 4 of Genesis, he appeared before the Lord with Abel to offer sacrifice, but due to the fact that He is of that wicked one, his sacrifice was rejected but Abel's own was accepted because he is of the righteous one. This is to teach us of two categories of persons in Church of Jesus Christ, the first

THE LOVE OF GOD

Image
The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the communion of the Holy Ghost, be with you all. Amen. (2 Corinthians 13:14|KJV- The Love of God is God's compassion for mankind, He loved the world and all that is in it and sent His son Jesus Christ to salvage it from destruction.  How can we measure the love of God? But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. Much more then, being now justified by his blood, we shall be saved from wrath through him. For if, when we were enemies, we were reconciled to God by the death of his Son, much more, being reconciled, we shall be saved by his life. And not only so, but we also joy in God through our Lord Jesus Christ, by whom we have now received the atonement. (Romans 5:8-11|KJV- The love of God is not something we can measure or say, He loved us ahead of time, before we became sinners and while we were yet sinners He loves us and died for our sake. His love demonstrated on t

The Grace of Jesus Christ

Image
Grace is God's remedy for sin; through the disobedience of one man Adam, sin and death was attributed to all men but through the obedience of another man Jesus Christ, Grace reign through righteousness to eternal life.  Who is the Author of Grace? The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the communion of the Holy Ghost, be with you all. Amen. (2 Corinthians 13:14|KJV- Grace is an attribute of our Lord Jesus Christ. His obedience to die on the cross made Him the Lord of Grace; through grace He has saved us from the condemnation of Adam; we did not do anything to merit it, it is a pure gift that proceeds from the cross. His obedience earned us the grace to live and die. How can we be part of His Grace? Just as the scripture says, grace is God's free gift of eternal life to all that believe, there is nothing in us to make us qualify for His grace but He already qualified us by the cross; it is Him that works in us to make us willing to do and to obey Him.
