The genealogy of Adam and why Cain is missing

 This is the book of the generations of Adam. In the day that God created man, in the likeness of God made he him; Male and female created he them; and blessed them, and called their name Adam, in the day when they were created. And Adam lived an hundred and thirty years, and begat a son in his own likeness, after his image; and called his name Seth: And the days of Adam after he had begotten Seth were eight hundred years: and he begat sons and daughters: And all the days that Adam lived were nine hundred and thirty years: and he died. And Seth lived an hundred and five years, and begat Enos: (Genesis 5:1-6|KJV-

From this account, we discovered that in Adam's genealogy Cain and Abel is missing we understand that of Abel to be that he has died and has no generation to be counted from him, but Cain was still alive and was skipped and Seth was mentioned. 

One clear indication from this scripture is that Adam brought forth children after his own likeness. Seth was described to be born after the likeness of Adam but cain is of the likeness of that wicked one, so how can he be counted in a genealogy where he didn't belong?

And Jesus himself began to be about thirty years of age, being (as was supposed) the son of Joseph, which was the son of Heli, ... Which was the son of Enos, which was the son of Seth, which was the son of Adam, which was the son of God. (Luke 3:23,38|KJV-

Same thing was repeated in the genealogy of Jesus, the genealogy of Adam is traced to the son of God. 

The essence of this exposition this morning is to help us to understand that God has His own people and satan has his, God created man in His own image after His likeness but satan came into the garden and introduced his own seed and drew a new genealogy for himself starting with cain. Cain has been so presented to be the son of Adam but in genealogy and inheritance, we know quite well that Cain is not part of son of God. 

There are alot of people today hiding under the cloak of Church and Christianity but the truth remains that God does not know them, there names are not in the book of the Lamb that was written from the Foundation of the world. 

That is why Apostle Peter admonished us thus:

Wherefore the rather, brethren, give diligence to make your calling and election sure: for if ye do these things, ye shall never fall: ... Wherefore I will not be negligent to put you always in remembrance of these things, though ye know them, and be established in the present truth. Yea, I think it meet, as long as I am in this tabernacle, to stir you up by putting you in remembrance; (2 Peter 1:10,12-13|KJV-

Finally brethren, the separation process has began, you can either be among the wheat or be among the tares, don't just assume you are on the Lord side, give diligent to ensure where you stand. God bless you.
