PENTECOST SUNDAY: THE UNIVERSALITY OF THE CHURCH OF JESUS CHRIST (WIND, FIRE AND WATER)

Just as Jehovah revealed Himself to Moses at mount Sinai in the wind and in the fire (Ex.19:18), so He revealed Himself on the day of Pentecost: first there was a rushing wind, then a clove of fire on them (Acts 2:2-3). At Sinai, God established His covenant with Israel but at Pentecost, His covenant was extended to the whole world. At Sinai, Moses spoke just one language to deliver the covenant but at pentecost, the Apostles spoke different languages to deliver the covenant.

Just one gospel of salvation, but delivered in different languages; so that it will be fulfilled when it is said; "for He has purchased us for God by His blood, from every kindred, languages, people and tongues to be Priest and Kings..."

Pentecost was the lunching day for the universal movement of the gospel of Christ. It was on this same day that Peter who could not stand before a young Hebrew damsel and declare Christ, stood boldly before Jews and Gentiles that was gathered at Jerusalem (over 3000 of them) and preached the longest sermon and Souls were won for the Kingdom.

And after the gospel has been preached, Peter introduced water baptism for the remission of sin, following in the commandment of our Lord Jesus. And the believers that day were baptized in the name of JESUS CHRIST (not in the name of the father, son and Holy Spirit).

Pentecost is not just about the day the Holy Spirit came upon the Church, it's also the day God commissioned the church in every nation, kindred, and languages. It's the day God afforded the entire world to share in the promise of eternal life through the saving message of Jesus Christ.

Prayers

Faithful Jehovah, thank You for your grace and increase upon the Church. The same Church that you started this day of pentecost at Jerusalem, with just 120 souls is now in every nations of the earth, speaking different languages but one message, one baptism and one hope. May your ever loving Spirit fill us again as we share with Christian people all over the world in this Foundation laying ceremony of pentecost. Give us the same boldness you gave to Peter to continue to preach this gospel to the whole world so that at last, we will save ourselves and them that hear through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen
