The Acceptable Year of the Lord

The Spirit of the Lord GOD is upon me; because the LORD hath anointed me to preach good tidings unto the meek; he hath sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to them that are bound; To proclaim the acceptable year of the LORD, and the day of vengeance of our God; to comfort all that mourn; (Isaiah 61:1-2|KJV-

This was the prophecy of Isaiah regarding the anointing that is to be upon Jesus Christ. The Spirit of the Lord God is upon Him to archive two purposes; first is to proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord and second is to proclaim the day of vengeance of our God.

The birth of Jesus Christ marked the beginning of the acceptable year of the Lord and the second coming of Jesus Christ (Rapture) will mark the beginning of the day of vengeance of our God.

The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because, he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted,, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised, To preach the acceptable year of the Lord. And he closed the book, and he gave it again to the minister, and sat down. And the eyes of all them that were in the synagogue were fastened on him. And he began to say unto them, This day is this Scripture fulfilled in your ears. (Luke 4:18-21|KJV-

Upon the birth of Jesus Christ, after His baptism and temptations by the devil,  Jesus entered the temple and a book of the law was given Him, He opened to Isaiah 61:1-2 where His mission statement was written and read it before the people. The people were surprised because He only read and stopped at "to preach the acceptable year of the Lord " and He closed the book and did not say or read the portion that talks about the day of God's vengeance.

This was so because at that moment, He was on earth to fulfill the acceptable year of the Lord. That was why He boldly told them that "this day is the scripture fulfilled in your ears".

The acceptable year of the Lord is the salvation window for the Bride of Jesus Christ, it is a season and opportunity for repentance and seeking the Lord while He is near.

Seek ye the LORD while he may be found, call ye upon him while he is near: Let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts: and let him return unto the LORD, and he will have mercy upon him; and to our God, for he will abundantly pardon. (Isaiah 55:6-7|KJV-

You can only seek God and find Him within the acceptable year of the Lord, you can only repent and turn to the Lord only within the acceptable year of the Lord, God can only have mercy and pardon a sinner who turn to Him only within the acceptable year of the Lord.

Then said Jesus unto them, Yet a little while am I with you, and then I go unto him that sent me. Ye shall seek me, and shall not find me: and where I am, thither ye cannot, come. (John 7:33-34|KJV-

We then, as workers together with him, beseech you also that ye receive not the grace of God in vain. (For he saith, I have heard thee in a time accepted, and in the day of salvation have I succored thee: behold, now is the accepted time; behold, now is the day of salvation.) (2 Corinthians 6:1-2|KJV-

The acceptable year of the Lord is now that you still have breath in your nostrils, it is now that Rapture has not taken place. God has given all of us equal opportunity to make our decisions to follow Him within this salvation period. Never you think you can have this opportunity forever because it is for a season and as soon as this season of acceptable year ends with the Rapture, the day of vengeance of our God begins.

Prayers

Most righteous and merciful judge, it has pleased you to save mankind from eternal death through the offering of Your son Jesus Christ, grant us true repentance in Him and save us from hardness of heart through the same Jesus Christ our Redeemer.  Amen.
