THE DAY OF VENGEANCE

 The day of Vengeance of our God is the second phase of Jesus ministry as we saw from our text in isaiah 61:1-2.

The acceptable year of the Lord will end upon Rapture and immediately the saints of God are taken out of this wicked world, the day of vengeance of our God will begin. That day will begin with the revelation of the antichrist who will be given power to afflict the earth and its inhabitants for a period of three and half years.

When once, the master of the house is risen up, and hath shut to the door, and ye begin to stand without, and to knock at the door, saying, Lord, Lord, open unto us; and he shall answer and say unto you, I know you not whence ye are: Then shall ye begin to say, We have eaten and drunk in thy presence,, and thou hast taught in our streets. But he shall say, I tell you, I know you not whence ye are; depart from me, all ye workers of iniquity. There shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth, when ye shall see Abraham, and Isaac, and Jacob, and all the prophets, in the kingdom of God, and you yourselves thrust out. ... And, behold, there are last which shall be first, and there are first which shall be last. (Luke 13:25-28,30|KJV-

But of that day and hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels of heaven, but my Father only. But as the days of Noah were, so shall also the coming of the Son of man be. For as in the days that were before the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noah entered into the ark, And knew not until the flood came, and took them all away;, so shall also the coming of the Son of man be. (Matthew 24:36-39|KJV-

The ark of salvation is Jesus Christ, anyone who did not enter that ark now by believing in Him risk condemnation and as soon as the door is shut (Rapture) there will be no more opportunity for repentance.

The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance. But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up. Seeing then that all these things shall be dissolved, what manner of persons ought ye to be in all holy conversation and godliness, (2 Peter 3:9-11|KJV-

God is not slacking to bring the acceptable year to a close; its been long we were hearing about Rapture and the condemnation that awaits this earth, some people see it as a fable and weakness from God but the truth remains that the reason why this is delayed is because God is still giving opportunity for sinners to repent and come into the ark  because once He stands up from the mercy sit and shuts the door, there is no amount of begging that will make Him open it. So friends this is the acceptable year of the Lord, join the ark of Jesus Christ now that you can before it is too late because what will before this earth in the day of vengeance of our God will be terrible. 

Likewise also as it was in the days of Lot; they did eat, they drank, they bought, they sold, they planted, they builded; But the same day that Lot went out of Sodom it rained fire and brimstone from heaven, and destroyed them all. Even thus, shall it be in the (3739) day when the Son of man is revealed. In that day, he which shall be upon the housetop, and his stuff in the house, let him not come down to take it away:, and he that is in the field, let him likewise not return back., Remember Lot's wife. (Luke 17:28-32|KJV-

This explains how everything will happen,no one will have time to gather up belongings, money, cars, businesses, nothing will matter on that day. It will be a day of wailing and gnashing  of teeth, regrets and pains will be the portion of anyone that will miss that flight of eternal life.

Remember Lot's wife, she had opportunity to escape God's vengeance on Sodom but the love for the things of this world did not allow her. Remember what Apostle Peter said in the preceding passage where we read, He made us to understand that the earth and all that is in it will melt with fervent heat, this is to show how vanity all these earthly acquisitions can be. Dear friend, what can you give in exchange of your soul? As for Lot's wife, she exchanged her soul for the material things of this world. 

This scripture can be likened to a person who wakes up from sleep and find the house flooded with water.The person is tempted to pick some items or certificates and at the same time risk getting drawn.

HOW CAN ONE ESCAPE THE DAY OF VENGEANCE OF OUR GOD?

Mark 13:1-37  and Luke 17:1-10 gives vivid explanation on how we should prepare for that day.

The day of Vengeance is more than a future reality.It is already present.

1)Forgiveness:Luke 17:3

"Take heed to yourselves:if thy brother trespass against thee,rebuke him; and if he repent, forgive him.

2)Faith: Faith in Christ alone is all we need to fix our eyes on Jesus in this race. For without faith it is impossible to please God.

3)Take heed,watch and pray and God by His grace will show us the route of escape.
