God's Promises of Righteousness and Everlasting Life to Believers

  Righteousness is right standing with God.It is a condition of being in right relationship with God . A believer is not righteous in God's eyes because of his choice or commitment,instead he is righteous because the God is Righteous. Righteousness is the holy character of God, so a believer is Righteous because he or she believes in a righteous God.


But we are all as an unclean thing, and all our righteousnesses are as filthy rags; and we all do fade as a leaf; and put iniquities, like the wind, have taken us away. (Isaiah 64:6|KJV-


No man is worthy to parade his or herself as a Righteous person, for we all have sin and come short of the glory of God, so helpless in our sin that we can't save ourselves, that was why Jesus Christ a sinless man came to redeem us; He alone is Righteous and anyone who believes and obeys Him comes under His righteousness. 


For what saith the Scripture?  (1161) Abraham believed God, and it was counted unto him for righteousness. (Romans 4:3|KJV-

For the Scriptures tell us Abraham believed God, and that is why God canceled his sins and declared him "not guilty." (Romans 4:3|LIVING-


Righteousness begins with believe in God, it is the acknowledgment of the price Christ paid on the cross for our sins that makes us righteous. 


So when a sinner forsake his evil ways and believe in God, God cancels his sin and declares him not guilty because He alone is Righteous. 


As many that has chosen to believe in God has come under a holy nation where righteousness reigns (Prov. 14:34, 1Peter 2:-10) but sin is a reproach to anyone who did not believe. 










GOD'S PROMISES TO BELIEVERS

1)A believer is promised of the Holy ghost.

Acts 2:38c-9


"And ye shall receive the gift of the Holy ghost.For  the promise is unto you, and to your children, and to all that are afar off, even as many as the Lord our God shall call ."


2)A believer is promised of benefits of God's kingdom

Matt 6:33

"Seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness ; and all these things shall be added into you".

In other words, become a believer and all good things that follows a believer will come to you.


3) A believer is promised of Eternal life..

This can be seen in one of the popular verses in the scripture..

John 3:16 part B

"That whosoever that believes in him(God) should not perish,but have everlasting life"

Which means a believers eternity is secured in Christ Jesus.


4)A believer is promised of Divine blessings.

Hebrews 6:14

"Surely blessings I will bless thee and multiplying I will multiply thee"

This promise was made to Abraham (a Believer).


5) A believer is promised of Divine Rest...Matt 11:28

A part of the scripture says "come unto me all ye that are heavy laden, And I will give you rest. 

This was addressed to those that believe in God.


We will go ahead to see some of the righteous people in the scripture God made promises to.



1) In Gen 17:4,God made a promise to Abraham.."that He will make him father of all nations"

Abraham was a man of faith ,he was also in right standing with God.He believed God to the extent of sacrificing his only son.

Also in Exodus 2:24-25,God had mercy on Israelites because of the promise he made to Abraham.God doesn't joke with his promises,he went ahead to even swear by himself in Hebrew  6:13 to show how serious he is.


2) Deuteronomy 28:8-9,God made promise to Moses and people of Israelites on how he will bless them. Part of verse 9 says

" as he hath sworn unto thee,if thou shalt keep the commandments of the Lord thy God, and walk in his ways"

 which means this blessings shall manifest if the people of isrealites become righteous and believer.


3)John 3:16

"For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son that who so ever that believes in him shall not perish but have everlasting Life."

This is the promise he has made to everyone (you and I)


He is calling us to repent of our sins,that his grace is available to us anyday, anytime.

He further explained our reward which is everlasting life in John 17vs 3

"And this is eternal life that they might know thee the only true God, and Jesus Christ ,whom thou has sent".

Dear Readers,the only path to this eternity and righteousness is to make your heart available for christ and you shall live forever for God.God is the only eternity and righteousness we are sure of.

Ist John 5:11 says

"And this is the record , that God hath given to us Eternal life, and this life is in his son".

Lord thank you for the promise of everlasting life,help us Lord to Know you,your son Jesus Christ and path to eternity,remove weights that would make us deviate from eternity,this we pray through Christ our Lord ..Amen

Sin is an immoral act considered to be transgression against divine law.(1 John 3:4) Sin according to the scripture is act or omission against God by despising his person and Christian biblical law and by extention to others.
