The Labourers and the Rest 1

Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest., (Matthew 11:28|KJV-

Are you much aware that in this life men labour?
Does it ever occur to you that in this life men need rest?

The labourers in the scripture are categorized into two, one are those whom the devil has engaged wrongly and two, those whom God has engaged rightly. Today we will consider the former.

The devil is not just a wicked spirit but also a deceiver of men, he doesn’t just want anyone to remain idle and that’s while he has found room in the hearts of many to engage them.

A man that labours for the devil is a slave and not a true labourer because in reality every labourer deserves pay and rest but the devil don’t give rest nor pay but use men to achieve his wicked purposes and finally settle them with a room in hell.

It is the job of the devil to contract a group of people in the name of herdsman, boko haram etc to kill and mime their fellow human, he is also in the business of greed and corruption. He is the highest employer of youths in all sorts of immorality. So who then said there is no job anywhere? Hear this, the devil has a job for everyman no matter your status and qualification in life, it’s all depends on your willingness to work for him.

But this morning there is a call from the desk of the King of Glory, the faithful witness, the Prince of Peace, the I am that I am, the one who died yet lives again. He calls this morning and says COME ALL YOU WHO LABOUR AND ARE HEAVILY LADEN AND I WILL GIVE YOU REST. The truth is that it’s only in Christ Venture that you will find peace and rest for your soul, so par a venture you are under the labour yoke of the devil, it can be yoke of immorality, it can be lying and cheating, it can be backbiting, it can be envy, it can be fornication, whatsoever it is the master is calling you today to come home and rest.

It doesn’t matter how long the devil has yoked you into that, all that matters now is your decision to resign and take a rest in Christ Jesus. He is the only one that can afford you rest from every kind of labour. He gives rest and receives one free of charge all you need is to turn to Him in confession now. Behold the banquet of God for those who laboured and turn to Him for rest:

Invitation to the Lord’s Salvation “Is anyone thirsty? Come and drink— even if you have no money! Come, take your choice of wine or milk— it’s all free! Why spend your money on food that does not give you strength? Why pay for food that does you no good? Listen to me, and you will eat what is good. You will enjoy the finest food. “Come to me with your ears wide open. Listen, and you will find life. I will make an everlasting covenant with you. I will give you all the unfailing love I promised to David. (Isaiah 55:1-3|NLT2013-

Prayers:
Everlasting father the author and finisher of our faith, look upon us your children with your mercy, indeed we have stayed and all we like sheep has gone a stray and there is no longer life in us. Help us oh Son of Man help us for we have no where to go from here. Grant our hearts the peace of salvation and grant us rest from every works of darkness. Subdue and rebuke the devil for our sake and to the glory of your name JESUS Christ the righteous! Amen.

 What is sin? Sin is an immoral act considered to be transgression against divine law.(1 John 3:4) Sin according to the scripture is act or omission against God by despising his person and Christian biblical law and by extention to others. Hence rebellion against God and neighbors(Deuteronomy 9:7, Joshua 1:18) SATAN SINNED Who is Satan? Satan was once an archangel who once sat before the throne of God. He lost his position before God the very moment inequity was found in him (Ezik. 28:15).
