Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness, Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies, Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God. But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law. (Galatians 5:19-23|KJV

Today we want to make clear the labour, now for the fact that you were asked to go out for evangelism or clean the church does not per se mean that you are a labourer, that you go out every morning for morning cry or always preaching in the bus does not make you a labourer in this context. That you own a ministry and run marathon activities does not mean you are laboring.

Now what does it really mean to labour in the Kingdom that will warrant you rest? From the passage above, the first categories of works listed are for those whom the devil himself hired, they labour in Fornication, hatred, witchcraft, drunkenness, envying etc.

These categories of labourers, the Bible noted that they will not inherit the kingdom of God (rest). The devil cannot offer rest, rest remains only for the people of God. The only settlement he has for those he hired is to settle them in the torment of hell. So if by any means you still see yourself manifesting any of those works categorized above, then be quite sure that you are under the labour of the devil and you know the implication.

The second categories of works are know as the fruit of the Spirit. The hirer in this case is Jesus Christ. The point of hire is the point anyone gives his life to Christ and become born again. Now the works which we are called to labour on includes love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness etc friends these are where we are called to Labour in the Kingdom, for instance to love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul and with all your strength. To love your neighbors as yourself. If you have not in your daily life found exhibiting all or any of these then don’t expect rest because rest comes after labour.

Finally on this series, you can be hired by Christ, and chose to be a cheat in his labour. Ie.  you can be born again, yet still choose who to love and who not to, still fornicate in the secret and come out to with joy. But note this, God cannot be mock for everyman will reap what he planted. But God's truth stands firm like a great rock, and nothing can shake it. It is a foundation stone with these words written on it: "The Lord knows those who are really his," and "A person who calls himself a Christian should not be doing things that are wrong." (2 Timothy 2:19|LIVING-

Prayers:
Blessed Redeemer the creator of all that is seen and unseen, we beseech you glorious father to look upon us in your great mercy. It is our desire to be genuine labourers of your kingdom. Hire me today and I will be willing to work. Supply the grace to remain faithful to this duty call till the hour of rest. Make your kingdom known through the saving grace of your son Jesus Christ and grant by the power of the Holy Spirit the desire to do your holy will through Jesus Christ our Saviour! Amen.
