In My Father's House... (Understanding Christ Kingdom Agenda)

John 14:1 [KJV]Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me.2 [KJV]In my Father's house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you.

United Methodist Hymnal, 1989
1 Softly and tenderly Jesus is calling,
calling for you and for me;
see, on the portals he's waiting and watching,
watching for you and for me.
Refrain:
Come home, come home;
you who are weary come home;
earnestly, tenderly, Jesus is calling,
calling, O sinner, come home!

2 Why should we tarry when Jesus is pleading,
pleading for you and for me?
Why should we linger and heed not his mercies,
mercies for you and for me? [Refrain]

3 Time is now fleeting, the moments are passing,
passing from you and from me;
shadows are gathering, deathbeds are coming,
coming for you and for me. [Refrain]

4 O for the wonderful love he has promised,
promised for you and for me!
Though we have sinned, he has mercy and pardon,
pardon for you and for me. [Refrain]

This was the very statement of Jesus Christ Himself, assuring His disciples when He was about departing the earth that they should not be alarmed of the fact that He is about leaving them but they should hold on to God and also in Him. He didn't just stopped there, He further assured them that in His Fathers house, they are many Mansions and His going is to prepare a place for them.

As a human on earth one thing is to believe in God and believe that Jesus Christ is the only son of God, another thing is to understand the very essence of His coming into this earth which was to reconcile man to God through His precious blood that was shedded on the cross of carvery. Another thing is to understand why He returned back to Heaven which is to Prepare a place for His own people ie. those who believe in Him.

Living in this wicked world, they are several reasons why our hearts should be trouble; ranging from hunger to famine, earthquake, corruption, cheating and lying, killing etc but Jesus admonished us that we should not allow these things to overwhelm us because there is a place which is different from this earth which He goes to prepare for us and the bible made us to understand that in that house above there will be no more hunger, no more day or night infact, the bible recorded that those who commit all forms of evil in not have a room in that mansion.

It is truth that Jesus has gone to prepare a place for us and we are certain of His return to take us home with Him but how ready are you to go with Him? Jesus Christ is not coming back as a father Christmas to begin to dash people mansions but He is coming back only for those who has washed their robe in the blood of the lamb.

To secure a room in the mansion all you need to do now is to join the fold of Christ, believe in Him and live for Him, cast your burden upon Him and find rest for your soul. Jesus said, I am the Good Shepherd, I know my sheep and my sheep knows me... the Lord knows those who are His so He can never compromise His standard just because you are this or that, all you need to secure a room in His mansion is to hate sin and embrace the finished work of Christ.

Remember, no one can enter Heaven by mistake or by favour, the bible said that on that great day, books will be open and another book will be open which is the book of life and all will be judged according to their works. I don't know the nature of your work here on earth but all I know is that for a man to find a room in the mansions which the Lord has gone to prepare for us; such a man need to be a worker of righteousness.

From our Hymn above we can see how Christ is pleaded with us daily to come home and join His flock, the main criteria for securing a mansion in heaven is to leave the strange lands of sin and come home. Renounce the devil and his devices and embrace the promises of Christ and you will find rest for your soul.

Prayers
