This was the very reason Christ charged every believer to illuminate the earth through the light of Christ in us.
It is another clear fact from the Scriptures that every believer in Christ Jesus is a city set on a hill which cannot be hidden but today many has quenched their own light and destroyed their own city and now dwells in the valleys.
We are the light of this world, having the image and likeness of Christ who is the ultimate light. The Scriptures pointed that through His coming, them that dwell in the valleys of shadows of death has seen a great light.
And before He left this earth, He committed unto us this light by charging us to go forth into the world and make disciples of all nations... with a promise that He is is with us till the end of age.
The first way to reach out to people around you is by letting your light shine; what does it mean to let your light so shine? It means that in every aspects of our lives, we should reflect Christ in our dealings. It means allowing those who have not seen and known Christ to see Christ through us. It is a call to declare Christ in the public, because no man can light a candle and put it under the bed but has to put in in the open where everyone will see through it.
We live in a world that is full of darkness, thus the necessity is upon us as children of God to let our light so shine. Look at what the bible says...
Arise, shine; for thy light is come, and the glory of the LORD is risen upon thee.
For, behold, the darkness shall cover the earth, and gross darkness the people: but
the LORD shall arise upon thee, and his glory shall be seen upon thee.
Bible KJV - Isaiah - Chapter 60:1,2
This was the prophecy of Isaiah, that darkness shall cover the earth and thick darkness shall be upon the people. This is exactly what we are seeing in our world today, darkness of disobedient, Bribery and corruption, sedition, false prophets, stealing and killing, blasphemy, etc. But we have to solution to this, Isaiah said that we should arise and shine! You need to arise in your office, in your school, in your business place, in your family, we need to arise and say no to works of darkness, we need to arise and let men see Christ through our lives and living.
Our light has come, Christ is our light, the word of God as contained in the Holy Scriptures is our light, the Holy Spirit of the living God is our light. For anyone to carry this light, it is mandatory to accept Jesus Christ as Lord and personal Saviour, then allow the Holy Spirit who is the teacher and guide to direct our paths through the revealed word of God as contained in the Holy Scriptures.
Friends, this is a call all over the world, that in that little corner where you find yourself, you should let men see Christ through your dealings and living by letting your light so shine.

Prayers
Almighty God our heavenly Father, thank you for all you have done to bring us to the point of oneness with you. Thank you for the blood of your dear Son Jesus Christ, thank you for through Him we see light even in our darkest paths. Lord make us instruments of your light that we may so shine in this last days, that through our lives and living, men will come to the true knowledge of Christ to the glory of your Holy name Jesus Christ our Mediator! Amen.
