Experiential Oneness with Christ: The Peace of God

The peace of God was vividly manifested through Christ Jesus first through His earthly ministry and secondly while on the cross.

The scriptures made us to understand that Christ government will bring peace which has no end see Isaiah 9:7 this peace passes all human understanding and rules the hearts and minds of men.

As believers in Christ Jesus, we are to live our lives to mirror this peace which Christ brought to us, it also important to understand that Peace is an essential character which every child of God must possess so as to be at the helms of Kingdom advancement as can be seen in Good News Translation Romans 14:17 For God's Kingdom is not a matter of eating and drinking, but of the righteousness, peace, and joy which the Holy Spirit gives.

At every point in our lives we are not permitted to allow anything take away our peace which is in Christ Jesus, we should not allow worry and things of this world to take over us to the point that we lost our peace.

The peace of God is the calmness which flows in the life of every believer; I love the way David defined it in the book of Psalms Good News Translation Psalm 46:4 There is a river that brings joy to the city of God, to the sacred house of the Most High. Yes this river makes glad the hearts of every believers even in the face of life temptations and trials.

St. Paul also noted the functions of the Peace of God in the life of a believe thus: Good News Translation Philippians 4:7 And God's peace, which is far beyond human understanding, will keep your hearts and minds safe in union with Christ Jesus.

Secondly, the Peace of God was manifested through Christ while on the cross, see  Bible KJV - 2 Corinthians - Chapter 5:19 To wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation.

It was through Jesus Christ that God made peace with man after the fall of Adam. The reconciliation process took place at the Cross of Calvery where Christ died for us so that with His arms stretched wide, we will be welcome once again to commune with God the Father.

It is important to note that Christ haven reconciled us with the Father has given us the ministry of reconciliation so that as believers we can also make peace with those who have not known Christ by bringing them to the true knowledge of Christ redemption on the cross that brought us salvation.

So it is now upto us as believers to go out and preach this gospel of peace which Christ also preached while on earth. It was amazing that the Jews expected a Messiah who will come and liberate them from the iron rule of the Roman but to their disappointment, Christ came with peace and healing in his wings.

Finally brethren, it's is the will of God for everyone to turn to Christ and be save from the fire of hell; and God is looking upto you and I big time to preach this gospel of peace to all around us. Christ has promised to be with us while doing so, just trust Him and He will supply you the grace needed.

Methodist Hymn Book (MHB) 12
1.PRAISE,my soul,the  King  of heaven,
To His feet thy tribute bring;
Ransomed, healed,restored,for¬given,
Who like thee His praise should sing?
Praise Him ! Praise Him !
Praise the everlasting King.

2.Praise Him for His grace and favour
To our fathers in distress;
Praise Him, still the same for ever,
Slow to chide and swift to bless :
Praise Him ! Praise Him !
Glorious in His faithfulness.

3.Father-like He tends and spares us;
Well our feeble frame He knows;
In His hands He gently bears us,
Rescues us from all our foes:
Praise Him! Praise Him!
Widely as His mercy flows.

4.Angels In the height, adore Him;
Ye behold Him face to face;
Sun and moon, bow down before Him;
Dwellers all In time and space,
Praise Him! Praise Him !
Praise with us the God of grace.
Amen. Rev. H. F. Lyte 1834
