4. Jesus Introduced to the Church in Thyatira

And to the angel of the assembly in Thyatira write: These  things says the Son of God, he that has his eyes as a flame of  fire, and his feet [are] like fine brass: Bible (Darby Translation) - Revelation - Chapter 2:18

Church Hyminal: Children Supplement

There’s not a Friend like the lowly Jesus:
No, not one! no, not one!
None else could heal all our souls’ diseases:
No, not one! no, not one!

Jesus knows all about our struggles;
He will guide ’till the day is done:
There’s not a Friend like the lowly Jesus:
No not one! No, not one.

There’s not an hour that He is not near us,
No, not one! no, not one!
No night so dark, but His love can cheer us,

No, not one! no, not one!

I want us to first understand that the subject matter of Jesus Christ as the only Son of God cannot be over emphasised; in fact it is a settled fact in the scriptures and your believe or unbelieve about this cannot change the Fact.

So from our opening scripture we can hear Jesus Christ still introduce Himself as the Son of God and this introduction actually is very essential so as to give the message weight, so that the church will know that it's not just an Angel or any other heavenly being communicating these things but the Son of God Himself. This introduction made the message very credible and worthy of trust knowing the source of its origin which is Jesus Christ the only Son of God.

Further attributes made to this message is the description of the Son of God; probably you have forgotten Him or have not known Him before. The first of this is His eyes like a blazing fire which defined Him as the custodian of God's creation. See John 3:16, His Eyes still shows the excellence of His personality as an omniscience and omnipresent God. He is everywhere at the same time and knows everything both the seen and the unseen.

Jeremiah 17:10 But I, God, search the heart and examine the mind. I get to the heart of the human. I get to the root of things. I treat them as they really are, not as they pretend to be."

So Christ here is introducing Himself as one that has experience. So no matter what you are passing through now on earth, no matter the temptations and trials Christ is calling us to learn of Him and walk with Him. It is only when we learn of Him and walk with Him that we can find rest for our soul. Let us see how David put this experience:

The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want.
He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters.
He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name’s sake.

Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.
Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over.
Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the LORD for ever. Bible KJV - Psalms - Chapter 23:1,2,3,4,5,6

This is perfectly what it looks like when we go out of our ways to walk with God; though the finances is not coming, though friends and loved ones seems to have abandoned us, though things might be working against us now but we are confidence in whom we have believed in because at His appointed time Hw will surely set a table before us. We are confident in Him because he alone has track record of faithfulness even when we are unfaithful.

Friends I assure you one thing, no one who ever follows  Christ becomes a failure in life it's a matter of consistency and persistence and the result will be visible. So today as you hear His voice, harden not your heart, allow Him to lead the way; the amazing thing is that we always run ahead of God and get crashed on the way but if you can dictate His leading and plans for your life today and carefully and patiently follow Him; He will make champion out of you! In Jesus name! Amen.

From our hymn this morning, we can see that there's not a friend like our Lord Jesus Christ, Him alone knows all about our  struggles, so cast it all on Him and look up to Him alone because He will guild till the day is done.

Spiritual facts and life time lessons:

Some trust in uncles, education, beauty, skill etc Believe me, nothing on earth is worthy of your trust outside Christ; you are just watching a sinking sand. One day you will wake up and discover that they have all fail and fade. But Jesus Christ is the only Cup that will never run dry. You can give Him 100% of your Trust and I assure you He will deliver to the latter.

PrayersAlmighty God! The Father of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, thank you for giving us Jesus Christ your only Son whom while we were yet sinners came to earth died for us and left for us a perfect example to follow.  We thank you because you have not abandoned us, thank you for your ever sweet presence to guide and cheer us from all earth strives, if not for the Lord who has been on our side, the enemies would have taken advantage of us but you have never leave nor forsaken us. Thank you Lord! In Jesus name. Amen.
